Luna and Luka have had quite a week!
They visited their vet at Felina last Saturday, to get their vaccinations done. They had a health check-up, too. Both had dental calculus (hammaskivi), and Luna needs to have a tooth removed. The vet also took a sample of cells under Luna’s eyelids. She develops quite a lot of discharge, and apparently has had a chronic infection for a long time. The DNA test will determine which germ is responsible, and we can treat her.
Today, I took L&L for their dentist appointment. They did a blood analysis on Luna, too. Luka had his done a year ago. They found a low kalium concentration that needs to be treated for the rest of her life. So, now both cats will have their daily medication and Luna doesn’t need to feel left out any more: I mix the medicine with a small amount of extra tasty food (cheap wet food from a supermarket). So, work for me, a treat once a day for L&L 😉
If you have animals yourself, you have already guessed that all this didn’t come cheap. I’ll just say that it was closer to 1000 than 500 euros.
Both cats got an opioid-based pain medication after the dental operations today. As a result, I have two stoned cats with dilated pupils walking around the apartment…
