No, we did not take part in an orienteering event. But ended up in the middle of one…
We went to our home forest last night, to have a nice, relaxing stroll on the paths. We have been working on accepting people picking blueberries or searching for mushrooms as something normal and not frightening. We have made good progress, and encountered a few yesterday, and the people only got one muffled woof and some staring with pricked ears out of Una. And una gor treats to reinforce her calm behavior. Then, suddenly, young people with maps started to emerge from left and right, running. Una, of course, was terrified! One d**khead run straight towards us and decided to pass us very close, leaving – quite literally – only 50 cm between him and Una. Una was barking madly at this person attacking us, of course! Brave boy, risking an attack from a big raging dog if I wouldn’t have been able to hold Una on a very tight leash. I was, of course.
The rest of the walk was spent in a tense atmosphere, Una looking nervously into the woods and barking at every person she saw 😦
Well, that’s life. But took us back a good few weeks in our people-watching practice. Phew.
